The Swift team

our story

Built by a world-class team of engineers and athletes.

We know exactly what you're going through. With a founding team of engineers & athletes, we're intimately familiar with all the pains of running, scheduling, and booking at a sports facility.

A fresh perspective: Without looking at any competing solutions, the team at Swift decided to build from a blank slate. Because of this - we've built the easiest sports facility management tool there is.

Back to the future: Existing solutions look and feel like they were built in the 90s. Since we started from scratch, Swift looks and feels like a modern day tech company. It's sleek, intuitive, and exactly what your customers expect in today's age.

our values

What we're all about

We believe that companies are communities. At Swift, our values influence every decision we make. Here are our guiding principles:

1. Strong opinions, loosely held

Some of our best decisions have come out of very tough discussions between team members.

These are instances where conflicting opinions & facts are all surfaced & put on the table. Navigating this productively requires a unique skillset: the ability to have strong opinions on where you think the decision should go but also the ability to let them go when consensus is reached.

We have rigour in our discussions, and when a decision is made (regardless of whether it was "our idea" or not), we trust and back it fully.

2. Act like founders

We value extreme ownership at Swift. This isn't something that just the founders do - everyone at Swift looks to take full accountability of their role, the outcomes they're responsible for, and anything else on their plate.

Everyone is welcome to share feedback on any part of the product, or recommend suggestions & improvements to parts of the process - regardless of whether its directly on your team or not.

A big part of "acting like a founder" is fixing things that are broken, even if they're not "yours" to fix. It's recognizing that everything we do (the product, the brand, the support, etc) represents the company to our clients, which implies a shared responsibility amongst the team.

3. Pull customers in early and often

Everything we do, we do because it delivers customer value.

Since we don't run facilities ourselves, making sure we're delivering value also means pulling customers in as we build. We're big believers in bringing the actual voices of our customers to the table when building product, rather than "imagining" what we'd need if we're the customer.

When releasing new features, we engage our earliest supporters & beta customers to get true, "real world" feedback, iterate, and ship.

This goes beyond product as well - sales calls at Swift represent voices of prospective customers, which also play a role in how the company & the product evolves over time.

4. Sweat the details

An incorrect pixel, a typo, a grammar mistake, an image with poor resolution - these are all "paper cuts" that bother us deeply.

We recognize that a beautiful, sleek, and more importantly useful brand can only exist if these minor issues are resolved.

Doing this over days, weeks, months, and years compounds into an unstoppable force & true underlying craft & quality.

5. Bias to action

Progress requires momentum, and momentum requires action.

At Swift, we value taking action. Planning & preparation have their place as well, it's important (especially when building new features) to make sure you've covered as many edge cases and scenarios as possible.

We'd never want our customers to act as our quality assurance team, so everything we ship needs to be something we're proud of. But once the plans are set, we bias for action.

Experiments reign supreme at Swift, and nothing beats real customer feedback or data. Whether it's new pricing, a new feature, or even a new headline on the website, we look to validate ideas with action (aka experiments) rather than just thoughts.

6. Default to kindness

All of the above is only possible if our team continues to be human with each other.

Having tough conversations, making hard decisions, sweating the details, giving nitty gritty feedback - that can wear on you if you come to work with an ego.

At Swift, we value kind, humble, confident, and personable people. Because ultimately, in the fullness of time, our efforts can only compound if we're having fun throughout the journey.
